The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.
Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service and does not include premium video content. Releases outside of the UK could vary.
PlayStation 3 - PSN
It's another strong week for PS3 with a new PSN title, a classic PSone game and two high-profile demos. Geon is a grid-based arcade game from strawdog studios, appearing on PSN after arriving on XBLA last year. This isn't a straight port, with numerous enhancements and additional game modes being added to the PS3 version, and at £4.99 it's worth a look if you've already played last week's heavy hitters, WipEout HD and Mega Man 9, to death.
The biggest news is that PS3 owners can download demos for Konami's PES 2009 and 2K Games' BioShock. You'll struggle to find two higher profile PS3 games and they've both arrived a few weeks ahead of their October release dates. If you've just picked up FIFA you can see how PES compares and if you're somehow still unsure about the superb BioShock the demo should help you out.
Elsewhere on PSN there are numerous trailers, wallpapers and themes, tons of new Rock Band tracks and adidas LIVE Season subscriptions (if you want more than the free league you get with a purchase of FIFA 09).
