Fingerprint Stone Shield

  • The Fingerprint Stone Shield is found in the Cathedral of the Forsaken beneath Leyndell
  • After defeating Mohg, the Omen, hit the altar behind him to reveal a secret passageway
  • Drop down on the wooden beams and coffins until you reach an alcove where you can find the shield

If you aren’t the dodging type and would prefer to meet your foes head on, then you’re going to need a shield, and it’s hard to get one better than the Fingerprint Stone Shield. It’s huge, and unless you’ve got plenty of carrying capacity will weigh you down for sure, but who needs to roll if you can just block everything?

It’s become pretty popular since the release of Shadow of the Erdtree as it’s a great option to deal with some of the incredibly difficult bosses that have been added to the game. So if you’re after this shield, here’s exactly how to get it.

Where to find the Fingerprint Stone Shield in Elden Ring

The Fingerprint Stone Shield is found in the Cathedral of the Forsaken. This is in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, deep below Leyndell, and is where you fight against Mohg, the Omen (not to be confused with Mohg, Lord of Blood). You’ll need to beat him first, and then you can strike the altar at the back of the room to open a secret area.

This will bring you to a pit with several wooden boards spanning it, as well as coffins sticking out of the walls. Jump down to the third wooden plank below you, and then look for a coffin jutting out of the southeastern wall. Jump onto this coffin. Next, jump onto the coffin slightly to the north of you along the eastern wall.

From the second coffin, turn back south and jump ontto another coffin in the southeast corner. Turn north again, and jump to a coffin with an item on it, and you’ll find a little alcove in the wall. Now, turn right and walk around the corner, follow the corridor and you’ll find the Fingerprint Stone Shield.

We’ve added some images above to take you through it step-by-step, so be sure to reference them if you aren’t quite sure where to go next.
