If there’s one thing Elden Ring is known for other than its massive world, it’s the hugely number of incredibly diverse bosses. Everywhere you go in this game, whether it’s following the main quests or dipping into some cave in the middle of nowhere, you’ll more than often come up against some manner of boss at the very end.
So if you’re wondering just how deep the bossing rabbit hole goes, we’re here to help. We’ve put together a list of all of the available main and side bosses in Elden Ring so you can make sure you know which one’s you’ve still got left to tick off.
How many bosses are in Elden Ring?
In total, there are a whopping 238 bosses available to fight in Elden Ring, not including the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. However, this is the overall total, many of these are mini-bosses found in small dungeons or simply clones of other bosses that you’ll have the chance to fight in different locations.
If you’re only looking at main bosses, there are 14 compulsory bosses that you’ll have to defeat to complete the game. In addition, there are another 27 optional bosses that you’ll fight depending on how you progress certain story paths in the game. For example, you might not fight the Valiant Gargoyle, but a friend following a specific storyline will.
There is one exception to that rule if you want to start the Shadows of the Erdtree DLC, as you’ll need to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood to access it.
