Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation locations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Though we won’t venture into unwrapping the lore behind them, Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation features in both Fireknight Queelign and Count Ymir quests with some different outcomes depending on which Iris you opt for.

As with most things in Shadow of the Erdtree, they are both hard to come by, tucked away in the darkest corners of the Realm of Shadow. We’ll walk you through all the Iris of Grace and Iris of Occulation locations, which we found during out time reviewing the expansion.

Iris of Grace location

There’s a single Iris of Grace to find. You’ll need to head to the Shadow Keep in Scadu Altus. Load into the Storehouse, First Floor site of grace. Take a turn into the first room on your left as you enter the Storehouse, then take the lift at the back down (it’s the one that ultimately leads you to the West Rampart site of grace and further on, the Rauh Ruins).

Follow the path down into the room full of pots. The Iris is by a stone platform at the back of the room on the left. Watch out for the fleshy pot monstrosity near the platform as he spews horrible AoE damage than can chew through your health bar.

Iris of Occultation locations

There are three Iris of Occultation to track down. The first is underneath the Fort of Reprimand in Scadu Altus. Enter the fort through the main gate, head left and jump down a hole in the wall. The Iris is on a mound of bodies just ahead.

The second is a drop for defeating the large worm in the Shadow Keep, Church District after clearing the water in the area. To clear the water, you’ll need to approach Shadow Keep from the east and make your way across the rooftops beyond the Church District Entrance site of grace. Follow the path and you’ll find a contraption you can turn to drain the area. There are two worms to take down by large tree near the Sunken Chapel site of grace.

For the third Iris of Occultation, head northeast from the Tree-Workship Passage site of grace in Shadow Keep, which is accessible once you clear out the waters. You’ll hit the site of grace if you follow the path in the large church-like building in the west of the Church District and take the lift down. 

From the Tree-Workship Passage site of grace, go through the cave, then over the bridge and into the church. The Iris is at the foot of the statue ahead of you, just up from the Tree-Worship Sanctum site of grace and the Scadutree Avatar boss.

How to use the Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation

From what we know so far, you can only use the Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation in two situations. The first is in the Shadow Keep, Church District Prayer Room. Hand it over to Fire Knight Queelign writhing on the floor and you’ll get the Fire Knight Queelign spirit ashes. Give him the Occultation and you’ll get Queenlign’s Greatsword.

The second scenario is at the end of the Count Ymir quest line. Load into the Cathedral of Manus Metyr after defeating Metyr, Mother of Fingers, Swordhand of Night Jolan, and Count Ymir, then interact with Jolan on the floor near the pillar. Handing her the Grace gives you the Sword Hand of Knight Jolan spirit ash, while the Occultation gets you the Sword of Night.
