As with any FromSoft dungeon worth its salt, Belurat, the Tower Settlement has a few secrets, notably a whole moat section accessible via a ladder that leads down in a sewer near the start of the fortress. But, as is often the case, you’ll need a key to venture any further.

You’re not given any clues about where to track it down as we experienced when reviewing the expansion. Though there’s a good chance you’ll come across it naturally while exploring Belurat, it’s a bit tucked away. We’ll walk you through where to find it to save you some time and effort.

Where to find the Well Depths Key

You’ll find the Well Depths Key in a hidden room not far from the Small Private Altar site of Grace. The site of grace is about halfway up the dungeon so press on until you’ve unlocked it. From there, continue up from the Small Private Atar site of grace until you come to a ladder. Climb it, step out of the building, then take a left.

Ahead is a flight of stairs, but instead of going down, you’ll want to jump onto the roof on the side of the building. Follow it round to reach a short bridge. Jump up to the bridge and follow the path into a room. You’ll find the Well Depths Key on a corpse on the right hand side of the room.

Now, backtrack to the well, descend the ladder, and head right to find a door. Use the key to get it open. Press on and you’ll come out into an open-ish moat area. The waters are toxic so be careful and come prepared with anti-poison items. If you go left, you’ll meet a hulking ulcerated worm that puts up a decent fight. The Well Depths area is worth exploring as it’s full of crafting materials, the Horned Warrior Sword if you defeat the Horned Knight to the right, and a couple stones for weapon upgrades.
