And if you’re not relying on free V-Bucks, your purchases can start adding up pretty quickly. Luckily, there’s a way you can get 5% cashback whenever you buy V-Bucks, so you can stretch that cash a little bit further, and you might have got some back already. We’ve put together this guide to tell you exactly how it works.
How to get 5% cashback on V-Bucks purchases
Epic Games currently has a promotion called ‘Epic Rewards’ which gives you a certain amount of cashback credited to your account every time you make a purchase via Epic Games. This can be on anything from the games you buy to in-game purchases like V-Bucks in Fortnite.
For example, if you were to purchase 1,000 V-Bucks from the Epic Games store, this would cost you £6.99 / $8.99 / €8.99. This would give you an Epic Rewards balance of £0.35 / $0.45 / €0.45. This doesn’t sound like much, but if you’re someone who regularly buys V-Bucks, after only a few purchases you’ll soon be able to cover half or more of the cost of 1,000 V-Bucks, especially if you’re buying cheaper V-Bucks.
Sometimes, this amount can go up for certain promotions, but the base rate will always return back to 5%. Be aware that your purchases also have a time limit. If you don’t spend your rewards for a certain amount of time, they will expire, but this can be years down the line, so don’t worry too much.
How to view Epic Rewards
To view your Epic Rewards, head to your Epic Games client or the Epic Games website and log in. Select your account icon in the top right corner to open up a drop-down menu, and select ‘Epic Rewards’. This will take you to the Epic Rewards page on the website where you’ll see your previous purchases and your current balance.
