The Madden 24 Team Captains Program is one of the very first promos in the new game, presenting four upgradable players, additional rewards, and much more. In previous Madden editions, the Team Captains Program would grant fans the opportunity to earn just one of four players they could upgrade over the course of the year using tokens.
But in Madden 24 Ultimate Team, things have changed, including programs having their very own field passes. That’s right! On top of the Season 2 Field Pass rewards list, the Team Captains Program also comes with its very own Field Pass of goodies, which just so happens to have now five Team Captains players fans can unlock from its reward path. If you came to find out who the new Team Captains players are and how the new program works, you’ve come just to the right place.
Madden 24 Team Captains Program details
The idea behind the Team Captains Program in Madden 24 is to provide fans with a small collection of players they can upgrade to the highest possible rating over the course of the game. Prior to Madden 24, fans could upgrade just one player and could make them into 99 overall items. Though this will likely be the case in Madden 24 once more, fans can currently only upgrade these five new players to a max overall of 89.
In addition, fans can now unlock all five players from the Team Captains Field Pass by completing program objectives, sets, and events that will earn them the ever important Team Captains XP. As players progress their way through the Field Pass (which currently has 24 Levels), fans can unlock up to 18 total Team Captains tokens that they can apply to the players they want to upgrade.
New objectives will be going live on a bi-weekly basis throughout the year, with Weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7 already available. So if you want to maximize this promo, it’s best to complete as many objectives as you can, and most are not very complicated or challenging to check off.
Madden 24 Team Captains Program players
There are a total of five Team Captains Program players, all of which can currently become max 89 overalls by applying multiple Team Captains tokens. The best part about these players is that as soon as you hit their 85 overall rating, each will receive all 32 NFL Team Chems. Down below, we list the five new Team Captains players and the level each can be located in the Field Pass.

Seeing the max overall rating for these players went from 85 to 87 to now 89 since launch, it certainly begs the question whether fans will be able to upgrade them any higher as the season carries on. And from what it seems so far, fans will likely be able to, it’s just unclear how high at this time of writing.
EA has yet to make any mention of introducing another new Team Captains player following Crowder and has not provided any confirmation on whether they will allow fans to upgrade them to 99 OVRs. As many know, 80 overalls don’t hold that long of a lifespan in MUT once the 90 overalls start to arrive, which would make this program a short-lived one.
