How to unlock Magma camo in MW3

You can get the Magma (Animated Weapon camo) by completing the new Vortex: War’s Domain XP event in Modern Warfare 3. This event comes with lots of rewards and the Magma camo is the final reward that you can unlock once you get a total of 1,233,700 XP across all multiplayer game modes. 

If you’re hoping to grab this camo soon, you’ve got a bit of time left as the event will run until January 17, 2024 before it disappears. You can speed up the process of amassing XP and unlocking the Magma camo by equipping the War Horse skin from the Horseman War: Tracer Pack which gives you up to 1,000 bonus XP after every match.

How to fix Magma camo not showing 

Despite getting the required XP to unlock the Magma camo, some players have reported that they’re unable to get the camo. If you’re among them, fret not as Activision has acknowledged the issue on X (formerly Twitter) where it notes that, “XP targets displayed in the Vortex: War’s Domain Event UI are inaccurate” and that, “Tiers may appear completed sooner than intended.”

While the in-game menu shows 458,500 as the required XP to unlock the camo, the correct amount of XP you need is 1,233,700. So despite the game showing that you’ve accumulated the required XP, you’ll have to keep playing and grinding to reach the correct amount to unlock the Magma camo until the issue is fixed by Sledgehammer Games.
