Earlier this year, on Pokemon Day, the Pokemon Company announced a brand new commemorative product, the Pokemon TCG Classic set. What was shown off was a premium box set that included some of the games most iconic cards from the base set. Well, the release date for the Pokemon TCG Classic set has been revealed.

We’re going to talk about what all you get in the set, as well as when it’s releasing and where you can find it. This comes at perfect time as we’re also about to see the release of Pokemon 151, another set that’s commemorating the original 151 Pokemon. Pokemon TCG Classic release date and cost

According to the Pokemon Company, the Pokemon TCG Classic set will be released on November 17, 2023. Preorders for the product are availabe on the Pokemon Center. This product will also be releasing in local game and hobby stores, so check your local stores to see if they are also taking preorders for this as well.

Now this is a premium product, and the price tag reflects that. This set at MSRP is listed at $399.99. If you can’t get one on launch, be prepared to pay a lot more on the secondary market. Let’s take a look at what all you get in the Pokemon TCG Classic set.

Pokemon TCG Classic contents

The contents of this box set include the following:

  • Three Preconstructed decks featuring each of the Kanto starter Pokemon in their base set versions
  • Three deck boxes
  • Three sets of card sleeves
  • Premium two-player game board
  • Toolbox case with randomizer
  • two sets of damage counter cones
  • two sets of condition markers
  • Six never-before-seen cards plus one card only printed in Japan
Special cards that are printed in Pokemon TCG Classic

The cards that you’re going to get alongside the decks are the following:

  • Ho-Oh EX
  • Suicune EX
  • Lugia EX
  • Drops in the Ocean
  • Sun Seed
  • Scorching Charcoal
  • Mr. Mime (only previously released in Japan)

This product isn’t the only way that you can get these cards though. These cards will be made available in a separate unannounced product that will be releasing in February 2024.
