The Viking sandbox survival game developed by Sand Sailor Studio, ASKA, has a fixed release date for its Early Access launch. ASKA is all about crafting and survival, which can be done by yourself or in co-op with three friends. As your village grows, you can hire more NPCs as you strive to build a self-sustaining Viking Tribe. Let’s take a look at the confirmed release.
When is the ASKA early access release date?
The ASKA early access release date has been set for Thursday, June 20, 2024. This release date has been confirmed by the publisher, Thunderful Publishing, on its official website and the game’s Steam listing. ASKA is launching into Early Access on Steam, which means the game will not be in a complete state, but a certain portion of it will be playable while the devs continue to work on it. After being in Early Access, the game will eventually have a 1.0 release, but it is unknown when this will be.
ASKA gameplay details
At its core, ASKA is a colony management and survival game. The game can be played solo or with three friends in four-player co-op. As we’ve seen in trailers, it follows a fairly similar formula you’d expect in a survival game; expect to chop and carry tree logs, build buildings, keep your villagers happy, and manage your various needs.
Most important of all, you need to make sure you’re kitted out to fend off the monstrous foes in the wild lands. The game’s Steam page explains the following features:
- Assign each villager various jobs as they contribute to the tribe and leave their own mark on the settlement.
- Construct housing, workshops, mines, farms, defences and more as you expand your village.
- Discover hidden caves and explore further to harvest more valuable resources.
- Explore a fantastical, completely procedurally generated world filled with secrets, landmarks and threats, keeping every session dynamic and fresh.
- Experience realistic and dynamic weather system across the world, with survival priorities shifting in turn with the seasons.
Houses, workshops, defences, altars and more – the design of your village and your economy is in your hands. Each structure is handcrafted in wonderful detail, creating a functional and visually impressive Viking settlement.
ASKA pre-orders
At the time of writing, ASKA is not available for pre-order. You can only add the game to your Wishlist.
