Having plenty of variety in a multiplayer game plays a huge role in keeping players in the action for longer. In the case of the Call of Duty franchise, there’s a wealth of game modes for you to enjoy. Whether you’re a casual or a competitive player, Black Ops 6 has something to suit everyone’s taste.

Developers often introduce new game modes to inject a breath of fresh air into the action. While many have missed the mark, some have managed to become staples that launch with every annual release. With Season 2 moving into view, fans are desperate for one popular mode to return.

Where is Gunfight?

Gunfight involves two teams of two battling it out with random loadouts on small maps to see which one is best. The mode featured in Black Ops 6 since launch but the Season 1 Reloaded update saw it disappear much to the confusion of fans.

Despite the mid-season update introducing new Strike maps built for Gunfight, the mode has yet to make a return as part of a playlist update. Typically, a playlist update will rotate a variety of modes in and out of Black Ops 6 but there’s still no sign of Gunfight.

The Black Ops 6 developer remaining tight-lipped on the whereabouts of Gunfight is one of several issues fans are encountering while playing multiplayer matches. Anti-cheat measures continue to slip through the net while luminous Operator skins have quickly become the biggest example of a pay-to-lose formula.

When is Gunfight returning to Black Ops 6?

Although the frustration of fans continues to build, Treyarch is already starting to address the long list of flaws with Black Ops 6. The January 3rd update restored fun to the Citadelle des Morts map and showed enough for players to keep faith in the developer to turn things around,

The next major update for Black Ops 6 is Season 2. If Gunfight doesn’t return, fans aren’t going to be pleased even with plenty of new content to experience.
