Update: Microsoft has now confirmed that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass from day one. This was previously broken through a push notification on iOS devices for subscribers, but Microsoft has now confirmed the news on the Xbox wire.

There’s no mention of a launch day, but the leaked release date falls in late-October. While it’s only confirmed that CoD BO6 is coming to Microsoft’s subscription service, there are reports that suggest Game Pass might consequently get a price increase and new tier.

The live-action trailer is now out, and it has confirmed the date for a worldwide gameplay reveal.

Original story:

Activision has lately been teasing Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Very little is officially known about the upcoming CoD BO6 installment, but Activision has gotten across the message, “the truth lies”. One of the most interesting facets of this year’s installment is whether it will join Microsoft’s subscription service, and a push up notification suggests Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one of its release.

We are set to get a new trailer for this year’s Call of Duty installment in mere hours. Leaks have possibly unearthed pre-order early access bonuses, meanwhile, rumors heavily suggest that the game is set during the Gulf War.

We haven’t officially seen much outside of teasers, but things are set to change soon. There’s no official word on if Black Ops 6 will join Microsoft’s subscription service, but a push up notification for subscribers seemingly confirms it is coming to Game Pass and that it will be available immediately upon launch.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have reported receiving a push up notification on mobile that says “Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass on day one later this year!”. This notification was received on May 28th.

It’s been reported by The Verge’s Tom Warren on Twitter with an accompanying screenshot of the notification. BO6 coming to Game Pass still isn’t official, but the belief is that an announcement will be made at 7 AM PT/ 10 AM ET/ 3 PM BST today. Reportedly, the notification links to a Xbox news post with the URL ‘Play Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Day One Game Pass’. The web page is not yet live.

Although not official, there has been reports that CoD 2024 will immediately join Microsoft’s subscription service. Reports stem from outlets such as the Wall Street Journal.

While there is the belief that the game will land on XGP from day one, it could result in the consequences of an Xbox Game Pass price increase. As per the Verge, there are reportedly concerns within Microsoft “that the revenue that Call of Duty typically generates for Activision Blizzard will be undermined by Game Pass,” so rumors suggest there will be a price increase along with possibly a new tier.

Again, this is not official as of writing. Hopefully an announcement is made today, but Black Ops 6 is also set to appear at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th. There’s no mention of a launch day in the notification, but leaks suggest that the release date is in late-October.
