Dead By Daylight is a fantastic multiplayer experience, and the best part about it is all of the collaborations with iconic horror properties. The game has previously collaborated with the likes of Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, and Halloween, and it’s now possible DBD could finally be getting a heavily-requested killer thanks to leaks showing they will be part of crossovers with other video games.

There is a lot to anticipate in the very near future for Dead By Daylight. There is the release of the Tomb Raider Chapter 32.5 paragraph in July along with Tome 20, and we are also set for a collaboration with CastleVania for Chapter 33 in August. As if that wasn’t enough, the release date for The Casting of Frank Stone spin-off has potentially leaked, too, and it’s closer than you’d think.

While all of the above is exciting, it’s upcoming content we already know about. Fans always have wishlists of who they’d like to see enter the fog, and it now seems likely that Friday the 13th’s Jason Vorhees will join the world of DBD.

Dead By Daylight might finally get Jason Voorhees killer

It’s possible that Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th could become a killer in Dead By Daylight. DBD fans have been clamouring for the slasher icon to join the fog, and it now seems likely to happen.

The reason it previously wasn’t possible for the slasher to join Dead By Daylight was because of legal issues. However, these legal issues have been resolved, and, in May of this year, Horror Inc. announced an expansion of the Friday The 13th franchise called the Jason Universe.

The idea of the Jason Universe is to bring the slasher icon to other properties. In the world of video games, this has begun with the hockey-masked killer appearing in MultiVersus.

Aside from MultiVersus, leaks show that the horror icon will be in Fortnite for presumably the Fortnitemares event. There is also speculation that there will be a Call of Duty x Friday the 13th crossover this Halloween because the official JasonUniverse13 Twitter account follows Call of Duty.

In regard to Dead By Daylight, game director, Mathieu Cote, has previously spoken of BeHaviour Interactive’s desire to add Jason Voorhees as a killer. In 2020, Cote told Comicbook, “Jason has a standing invitation to Dead by Daylight… Whenever he’s ready, whenever he’s done with whatever he’s got going on in his life right now, he can come in”.

Although not explicitly mentioned, the above statement likely implied Jason can enter the fog once the legal turmoil is over with. In addition to verbally expressing a desire to add the Friday the 13th poster boy in interviews, BeHaviour Interactive conducted a survey in 2023 asking fans if they want Jason Vorhees.

With the Jason Universe bringing Voorhees to other games, it’s now clear that he can join the world of Dead By Daylight. While nothing is official or leaked as of writing, there is speculation that he could be the licensed killer for the paragraph chapter in March 2025 as part of the year 9 roadmap. This would make sense as the Jason Vorhees killer is iconic, but there’s no iconic survivor/protagonist such as Ellen Ripley for Alien.
