Dead By Daylight is a fantastic multiplayer experience, and its biggest appeal is all of the fantasy crossovers with other horror franchises. The game has collaborated with many famous horror movies such as Hellraiser, Halloween, Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street etc., and many more collaborations will happen in the future. Although not for year 9, a DBD leaker suggests a Walking Dead chapter is planned for the future.
We have all been treated to a brilliant year so far, but Dead By Daylight has an even better second half of 2024 lined up. Tomb Raider is officially joining the fog in July with Tome 20, and then we are getting a CastleVania crossover in August. Then, after August, leaks suggest The Casting of Frank Stone release date is slated for September.
All of the above and more should make for an excellent year 9. While this year has the potential to be one of the best in DBD history, it’s possible in the future we might be getting a collaboration with The Walking Dead.
DBD leaker says Walking Dead crossover is “on ice”
A highly-requested licensed crossover for many in the Dead By Daylight community is The Walking Dead. While nothing is official, DBD leaker, Gumpy, has suggested a chapter is planned for the future.
Many speculated that a protagonist from TWD would be the lone licensed survivor for Chapter 32.5. In response to this speculation, Gumpy accurately leaked Lara Croft before BeHaviour Interactive’s official announcement.
While also leaking Lara Croft for July 2024, Gumpy stated that he never said TWD isn’t happening, while also claiming “AMC reached out back in fall but there wasn’t space for this year. They’re keeping it on ice waiting for the perfect timeslot”. A screenshot of this comment has been shared on the LeaksDBD subreddit:
This doesn’t guarantee that a Walking Dead crossover will happen, but Gumpy has a good track record for 2024 so far. They leaked Lara Croft, and they also accurately leaked the Alan Wake paragraph at the beginning of the year along with the CastleVania chapter for August. In addition, they accurately leaked details about Sable Ward and the Unknown killer for DBD Chapter 31.
Assuming a Walking Dead crossover is planned, there’s no elaboration on whether it would happen during year 10, along with if it would be a paragraph or a full chapter with a killer, survivor, and map. A licensed survivor is obvious with the likes of Rick Grimes, Daryl, and Michonne, meanwhile, a killer could possibly be Negan, The Governor, or a zombie variant.
Again, nothing is official as of writing. It’s been speculated that Daryl could be added to DBD as Norman Reedus started following Dead By Daylight on Twitter in May, but nothing has been announced.
Below is the remaining schedule for new chapters, survivors, and killers for year 9:
- Chapter 32.5 – Lara Croft survivor – July 16th
- Chapter 33 – CastleVania killer and survivor – August
- Chapter 34 – Original killer, survivor, new map – December
- Licensed new killer – March 2025
- Original new survivor – April 2025
