With millions of daily active users, Fortnite has many different kinds of players. From casuals who enjoy Team Rumble to competitive players who play nothing but Ranked, players have different tastes. Of course, there is also the Creative mode, which offers a variety of different maps and unique game modes developed by creators.

Having these different types of players agree on something is nearly impossible. However, a recent Reddit post shows that the majority of the community agrees that certain players have a problem. If you want to see if you belong to this group of players, keep reading!

Fortnite community isn’t too happy with those who win frequently

Back in Chapter 3, Epic Games added Victory Crowns to Fortnite. In a nutshell, whenever you win a match, you get a crown. If you win another match while wearing a crown, you will get a so-called Crowned Royale, which is something many players chase. On top of that, Epic grants a special emote, allowing players to show off how many crowned victories they’ve earned in a season.

Despite crowned victories resetting in every season, some players accumulate hundreds of them in a short period. This requires a lot of skill and dedication, and according to a recent Reddit post, it’s not a healthy habit.

The post by Reddit user Thomasshadbolt shows a player who is showing off 219 crowned victories. “People with this many crown wins actually have a problem,” the user wrote.

“I just saw someone who was level 606 yesterday, like bro… put the controller down,” one user wrote, showing that some players have even more than 219 crowned wins. “That isn’t even that bad lol. Sometimes I see people with 700+ and I’m like wtf,” whateverizclever shared.

“If you are making money and have over 50 crown wins, you’re good,” SneakySammus posted. “If you’re not making a cent and have over 50 (maybe even less) it’s an issue.” Interestingly, a lot of players who chase crowns are not content creators. However, they find it challenging to get as many crows as possible, which can be fun for some people.

Reddit user Knightman1508 calculated how long it takes to get 219 crowned wins. “Let’s say that he played 219 matches and won all of them. Let’s also say that the average match length is 22 minutes. So multiplying 219 matches by 22 minutes per match, he had to play for a total of 4,818 minutes. That’s about 80 hours, which would be about only 3 days if he played nonstop (skipping meals and not sleeping).”

Considering this comes down to approximately two hours of Fortnite per day, it’s not too bad. However, the truth is that no one wins all of their games. If the player’s winning percentage is 50%, it means that it took them four hours per day. Keep in mind that crowns are no longer available in Fortnite bot lobbies, which is why getting them is quite tricky.

It’s easy to conclude that Victory Crowns have resulted in a higher engagement, which is why it’s unlikely that Epic Games will remove them. Due to this, we will all have to deal with players showing off their crowned wins for a long time.
