Another Fortnite collaboration is on the horizon! Godzilla is coming to the popular video game on Friday, January 17, and will be joined by Kong. These two fictional characters will not only be added as skins but will play a much larger role in Chapter 6 – Season 1. Many parts of this collaboration were leaked in December 2024, but this is the first time that Epic Games confirmed it.
When Godzilla arrived in Chapter 6, many players hoped to see Kong in the game as well. Fortunately, this wish has come true, as Epic confirmed that the gigantic ape is coming to Fortnite.
Kong and Godzilla are coming to Fortnite soon
With the release of the v33.20 Fortnite update, Epic Games added new cosmetic items for Godzilla. The bonus Battle Pass skin, along with its matching cosmetics, will be available on Friday, January 17. This will also mark the beginning of an in-game event which will feature Godzilla as an in-game boss, a new Mythic item, and more.
While Godzilla wasn’t a secret, the addition of Kong is a nice surprise. The fictional character is set to join Fortnite this week, and according to leaks, it will also be a boss. Epic Games confirmed the collaboration on X (formerly Twitter), a few hours after the release of the latest update.
Fortnite leaker Shiina found a couple of files that show what the Kong skin will look like in Fortnite. Hypex, another leaker, revealed that Epic will add a Throw Banana ability, which is likely Kong’s Mythic item.
At the moment, it’s unknown how the Kong skin will be obtainable. However, this character will probably come to Fortnite’s Item Shop later this week. The price and matching cosmetics haven’t been revealed yet, although Epic may decrypt them on Thursday.
