Epic Games has added many new game modes to Fortnite over the past six and a half years. In the beginning, the game only had a PvE mode, which then added Battle Royale as well. Now, nearly seven years after its release, Fortnite has thousands of different games, both from Epic and from third-party content creators.
While it’s true that the Fortnite developer has slowed down developing limited-time game modes, the company hasn’t completely given up on them. According to a recent leak, Fortnite will soon get a unique game mode that will bring back some fan-favorite weapons.
The upcoming Fortnite mode sounds like a lot of fun
Fortnite’s combat mostly focuses on ranged weapons, from assault rifles to submachine guns. However, Epic has released several melee weapons throughout the years as well, and some of them have been quite popular. According to Wenso, a reputable Fortnite leaker, Fortnite will soon get a new game mode with only melee weapons.
The leaker revealed that the mode is codenamed “MoonJade” and that it will be released soon. The exact release date is currently unknown. However, considering how much content Fortnite has received lately, it may not arrive until late July or early August.
Wenso also shared a list of some weapons that will be added with the limited-time game mode:
- Chains of Hades
- Shockwave Hammer
- Kinetic Blade
- Sideways Scythe
- Grapple Blade
- Nitro Fists
Considering that all of these Fortnite items also provide mobility, we expect the game mode to be fast-paced. We will probably get more information about it over the next few weeks, but in the meantime, make sure to unlock free skins in Fortnite before they expire. Epic recently released a free car as well, giving you a chance to add it to the locker.
