Fortnite has received a new update for Chapter 5 Season 3. This is the first since the new season’s beginning, and the changes introduced by Epic Games are massive. Here you will find all of the known changes from the Fortnite update including nerfs to cars that have upset large parts of the community.

Chapter 5 Season 3 has been a lot of fun so far, but there’s plenty else to anticipate for the future. Leaks indicate we are set to get a collaboration with Pirates of the Caribbean in June, and leaks also indicate a crossover with Fall Guys. Epic has also released more free items to quickly grab before they expire, meanwhile, beyond Season 3, the first Season 4 skin has already leaked combined with a new gameplay feature.

While there is a lot to anticipate for the future, Epic has just now released a new Fortnite update. This has introduced many changes to the battle royale including colossal nerfs to cars and vehicles.

Fortnite update massively nerfs cars

Below is a list of changes and nerfs introduced to cars in Fortnite’s most recent update:

  • Unvaulted Boogie Bombs
  • Boom Bolt Damage Multiplier to vehicles increased from x3 to x3.7
  • Nitro Gauntlets recharge rate increased from 8s to 11s
  • Vehicles have 18% less HP in Solos now
  • Fire Rate Multiplier when you’re in a nitro car reduced from x1.5 to x1.25
  • Grenade Turrets Damage to builds reduced from 250 to 150
  • Boss cars do not automatically regen health anymore
  • Reduced Machine Gun Turrets accuracy
  • Reduced Nitro shoulder bash damage to players

All of the above come courtesy of Hypex on Twitter:

All of the above nerfs are significant and, judging by the community’s reaction, not fully appreciated. In the replies to Hypex’s post, there are numerous comments echoing the sentiment that the “season was fine just the way it was” and “they’re allergic to making the game fun”.

While the changes may not be appreciated, Epic, on the FortniteGame Twitter account, has teased that they are bringing back a “widely-requested electric throwable to replace Boogie Bombs soooooon”. It’s currently unknown exactly when it will happen.

For more Fortnite, a new survey shows potential collaborations including Pokémon and Grand Theft Auto. Epic is also set to return a popular healing item and overpowered Pistol.
