The most recent update to Hades 2 has brought with it much needed buffs, though the most exciting news is that a “Major Update” is scheduled for later on this year.

The buffs include changes to Duo Boons and Legendary Boons, both of which are more frequently available, alongside increases of the minimum amount of boons found past Erebus. A few bugs have been ironed out regarding Chaos, and there are some important changes to weapons too.

  • Witch’s Staff (Circe): indirect damage from Omega Moves now contributes to activating Serenity
  • Sister Blades (Artemis): you now are immune to hit-stun effects during Riposte.
  • Umbral Flames (Eos): improved Omega Attack tracking, though slightly increased Magick cost and reduced max damage from upgrade path; Attack sequence now continues after using it
  • Argent Skull (Persephone): now any Cast damage (not just Omega Cast) extends your Omega Special

The change to the the Sister Blades is a devastating one, which will give you even more poise and endurance while fighting in the Riposte mode.

There have been plenty of changes to specific Boon skills too – far too many to list, so you can check the full patch notes here. The most significant of them include the replacement of Apocalyptic Storm with Hail Storm, which now strikes Frozen foes with lighting bolts. Keen Intuition from Hera has been replaced with Blood Line, and Funeral Pyre has been replaced with Elementary Particles which gives you an additional Elemental Essence and Infusion Boon.

Poseidon’s Crashing Wave has also been cut in lieu of Splash Fount, which buffs Omega Moves with a watery blast.

The Daedalus Hammer has seen a significant change that no longer prevents you from striking if you don’t have enough Magick, while plenty of enemies have had balancing updates implemented.

This is already a huge update – something that Supergiant Games are not averse to doing – though the most interesting reveal is that another “Major Update” will arrive later on this year. Imagine that the final weapon will be added, likely an instrument to fit into the magical musical theme of the game.
