Helldivers 2 01.000.402 update finally fixes inconvenient Hellbomb issue for faster destruction

Following a quiet month with very little new content, it has been all systems go in Helldivers 2 with the 01.000.400 update and the Viper Commandos Warbond releasing last week. Today, a brand new hotfix update has gone live, the 01.000.402 patch, to fix a number of issues caused by the previous update. Arrowhead Game Studios also used this opportunity to fix some issues that have been plaguing the game for a while.

The recent 01.000.402 update that was released earlier today has fixed numerous issues either caused by the previous update or that weren’t fixed in time. The final issue listed in the patch notes was “Hellbombs now get called down facing the player, rather than away from the player.” This fix has been met with a positive reception online because, even though it was only a minor issue, it was incredibly inconvenient and could sometimes lead to the the input screen being inaccessible if it was too close to an obstacle.

This new update comes following the release of the Viper Commandos Warbond that added many jungle-themed items to the game. Following this, Sony also accidentally leaked the next Stratagem to come to the game, a Rocket Launcher based on the iconic M202 FLASH from Commando, the 1985 action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
