Helldivers 2 has been consistent since its launch in February. Although the pace has purposefully slowed down the past couple of months, Arrowhead has done a good job updating the game and releasing new content. The developers at Arrowhead are set to take a well deserved “summer break,” and the Helldivers 2 community manager has responded to worries the game will be abandoned.
There is a lot to anticipate for Helldivers 2. We are still set to get the Illuminate, meanwhile, leaks suggest a talon-lashing bug from HD1 could be set to return. Updates have purposefully slowed down and changes to future warbonds mean they will no longer be monthly, so there is that for fans to be aware of concerning the game’s future.
While patches and new content are purposefully slowing down, Arrowhead developers are also set to go on summer vacation. Fortunately, the game is not being abandoned, although it is entering “semi-siesta mode”.
Helldivers 2 dev responds to “summer break” concerns
On the series’ official Discord, Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, posted “nothing to post right now as everyone is disappearing on summer break”. This was in response to a fan’s query about whether they will be sharing any more insider peeks such as the lunchtime workshop pictures.
In addition to revealing that Arrowhead developers are set to take a summer vacation, the CEO posted “we get 6 weeks of vacation per year and we take summer seriously”.
Some fans have expressed worry that the summer break is six weeks long with Arrowhead studios completely shutting down, but that is not the case. The six weeks is available vacation time to take off all year long, but a big chunk of it is taken off during summer.
Responding to concerns from fans that the game will be abandoned, Helldivers 2 community manager, Twinbeard, said, “Arrowhead won’t close during summertime and Helldivers 2 won’t be abandoned”. The community manager elaborated, “It is however fact that Sweden in many ways go into a semi-siesta mode during ‘Sweden industry summer break’, which is typically early July to mid August”.
The game is not being abandoned, but it is entering a “semi-siesta mode” between early July to mid-August. We don’t know if this means there will not be any updates at all, but it is not being entirely abandoned.
