Helldivers 2 fans have plenty to anticipate for the future. Arrowhead are remaining committed to delivering bigger and more impactful updates at a slower pace, and this is something they hope to replicate with warbonds. Arrowhead will support the game for years to come, and a leak suggests Helldivers 2 might be getting a massive clan system sometime in the future.
Make sure to check out the update 01.000.402 patch notes to see the latest batch of fixes from Arrowhead. This is a new patch released in response to update 01.000.400 delivered with the Viper Commandos warbond. Although a new bundle of fixes has been released, patch 01.000.400 was mostly well received by the community.
The game is in a good state right now, and there is stuff to anticipate for the future such as the long-awaited arrival of the Illuminate. We don’t know everything Arrowhead has planned for the game internally, but a leak suggests we could be getting a clan system.
Helldivers 2 leak shows Platoons clan system
On the HellDiversLeaks subreddit, OP IronS1ghts has shared screenshots of code that suggest Helldivers 2 might be getting a clan system called Platoons.
Looking at the screenshots, it appears there will be options to create a new Platoon and join a Platoon. You will be able to create the Platoon name and edit the clan by selecting members, kicking members out, and reviewing invites.

Although this is a recent leak, there was a leak pointing to a Clan Stratagem a few months ago. This was shared to YouTube by Venatix.
In the comments, some have speculated that Platoons may be cut content, but this doesn’t appear to be the case as details pointing to clans appear to have been updated.
There’s no guarantee that a clan system called Platoons will definitely arrive, but it does appear to be in-development with no ETA. We hope it does arrive in the future because the ability to create clans would be fantastic for Helldivers 2.
