Helldivers 2 devs will be releasing Warbonds less frequently “to allow more time to polish them”

Following an extensive teaser of its upcoming guerrilla-themed Viper Commandos Warbond, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that it will be releasing newer offerings less frequently moving forward. This is in order to give the team more time to polish future offerings after players criticized most previous Warbonds due to lackluster rewards, like the infamous Flexible Reinforcement Budget Booster.

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, AGS also stated that it’s “experimenting with Warbond item arrangement to make room for new types, customization, and higher quality armor/weapons — all with stronger theming.” Although the dev team has yet to reveal the new timeframe for future Warbonds, they stated they’ll be showing it later, likely through the Helldivers 2 X account or the game’s Discord server.

So far, player reaction towards the upcoming Viper Commandos Warbond has been largely positive. The sleeveless camo outfit, in particular, is a hit with the community, as it reminds some of an assault rifle-toting lone wolf played by Sylvester Stallone, who mows down enemy soldiers with savage brutality. The new Warbond also contains throwing knives and camo skins for Pelican-1 along with your Hellpod and Exosuits, so you can enjoy even more customization options soon.

Now, if future Warbonds are anything similar to Viper Commandos, it should undoubtedly be a hit with most players. For now, though, only time will tell whether they can live up to the community’s expectations.
