Arrowhead has a lot of plans for the future of Helldivers 2. Not only in regard to new content to keep players coming back, but also changes to existing features to improve what’s already in the game. Fans sometimes fear that plans have been forgotten about thanks to lack of word from the developer, but in this case Arrowhead has reaffirmed that changes are coming to the Helldivers 2 Galactic War map.
Updates have purposefully been slowed down, but we recently received a brand new update. You can check out the patch notes for update 1.000.305 to see all of the fixes from Arrowhead. In addition to this patch of bug fixes, disgruntled fans have become enamoured with the game once more thanks to the mystery surrounding a black hole after destroying Meridia.
The mystery of the black hole unfolding is exciting for fans, but there is plenty else to anticipate for the future of Helldivers 2. New content is always key to keeping players coming back, but the developer also has lots of plans for improving existing key features such as the Galactic War map.
Changes to the Helldivers 2 Galactic War map are coming
Arrowhead community manager, Twinbeard, has reaffirmed on Discord that changes are still in the works for the Helldivers 2 Galactic War map. This was in response to a fan’s query about whether changes and improvements to in-game comms have taken a backseat.
Twinbeard responded by saying, “Can re-confirm that more visible info on the gal map def. is in the works, and that we’re discussing various ways of improving in-game comms”.
Unfortunately, there’s no specifics on what changes will be implemented besides “more visible info,” and there’s also no suggestion for when these changes will arrive. As mentioned, this is a reaffirmation as changes to the Galactic War map were first discussed on Discord in April.
In April, former community manager, Spitz, responded to complaints about the Galactic War map on Discord. Spitz said “Supply lines and more information on the map is already being worked”. Some users have argued for a voting system to sway “casual players” ignoring planets of priority, but Spitz rubbished the idea:
“Even if we dedicated resources and time to adding some method of in-game voting on which planets should be the priority, that does absolutely nothing to stop casual players from just ignoring the vote and continuing to play where they want to play”.
In regard to better in-game communication, community manager, Baskinator, responded to a fan’s query in April by saying, “This is something the team is looking into. We have given lots of feedback from the community that folks want better in-game communication”.

Again, there’s no specific mention of what changes will be implemented to the Galactic War map and in-game comms, but at least we know improvements are still in-development.
