Arrowhead has purposefully slowed down patches for Helldivers 2 so they can better test updates before releasing them to the general public. However, although this is the intent, they may release hotfixes if it is super necessary. Many fans have complained about the spear once again, and the Helldivers 2 community manager has suggested an update might come “next week” to fix this “cursed” weapon.
Make sure to check out the update 01.000.402 patch notes to see the latest batch of fixes from Arrowhead. In other recent HD2 news, a leak suggests we could be getting a massive clan system sometime in the future, meanwhile, players have discovered how to fix a glitch that causes FPS to drop.
It’s possible the aforementioned glitch could be resolved in the hotfix assuming one does come out as suggested. But, whether said glitch is included or not, we do know Arrowhead are aware that the spear needs fixing… again.
Helldivers 2 update might come out “next week” to fix spear
On the Helldivers 2 Discord, a user asked the community “what to do if the game crashes using the spear”. Community manager, Twinbeard, provided the following response:
“Pray to the diver gods, perform a Spear exorcism, say 100 hail Liberty and hope that High Command and Ministry of Defence manage to produce a hotfix. (Maybe even next week.)”
Another user asked the community manager if we will get a hotfix this week, to which Twinbeard responded, “This week as in Fri-Sun? No. Next week? Much more plausible, maybe even likely”.
The above responses don’t guarantee that we will get a new update next week, but at least it’s hinted at and acknowledged as “maybe even likely”.
On the the game’s Discord, there have been a lot of complaints about the spear. One user said they have experienced multiple crashes using the spear, and Twinbeard acknowledged that “there are crashes affiliated with the spear right now… seems the spear is cursed”.
While the spear should be fixed, the community manager has said that he believes Arrowhead is also working on fixing the Ballistic shield. However, this isn’t guaranteed.
Hopefully, a new update of hotfixes does come out next week as teased online. Many users are complaining about the spear causing the game to crash, so this is a problem that definitely needs to be resolved.
