Helldivers 2 player calls Hellmire “freaking rad,” but people like to lie on the internet

Very few planets in Helldivers 2 bring about a fear of dread like Hellmire, a dry and desolate planet that is ravaged by fire tornadoes. I don’t know why anyone would want to live on it, nevermind willingly go there. If I was in charge of Super Earth this would be one planet I’d be happy to let the Terminids keep control of.

However, not everyone seems to agree as one players claims that it is “freaking rad” and they enjoy completing missions on it. U/Ace_Atreides has taken to Reddit to call Hellmire “freaking METAL” and it’s a hill they will die on saying “Scorching temperatures, rocky surface, red skies, FIRE TORNADOES. It’s freaking METAL, man!I can’t be the only one that likes it, right? RIGHT?”

It turns out that they aren’t alone, with U/beheadedfrito saying “Hellmire is my goddamn hellhole and I will fight and die proudly for Super Earth before letting bugs move in uncontested! Hellmire is a land of liberty, democracy, and freedom! Every citizen has the liberty to breathe the ashy filled, every citizen has the right to vote in our managed democracy, and every citizen is free to die in service to Super Earth!”

While the fire tornadoes are still feared among the Helldivers 2 community, they aren’t as devastating as they once were. Originally, the fire tornadoes were hone in on players and purposely target them, making Hellmire missions incredibly challenging to complete. After being nerfed they are much more manageable and easier to avoid. But, fire damage is still capable of taking out players in the matter of seconds so they’re still something you can’t let your guard down around.

With Helldivers 2 featuring many planet modifiers, it is likely that we will see armor tailored towards these, such as more fire resistant armor which will make missions on planets such as Hellmire much more manageable especially at higher difficulties. But until that day comes, all you can do is try and equip yourself with the most optimized loadout to take out the Terminids so you can get the objective complete and extract.
