Helldivers 2 is best played as a team-based game, but there are many reasons why players prefer to jump in solo. I often play solo unless playing on higher difficulties, but some things are easier to do with another player by your side. One of these is the radar tower objective, but a player has created a concept to make it easier for a single player to complete.

U/NanoStaart has taken to Reddit to share a concept that could prove to be very useful for solo players. One of the most handy secondary objectives in any mission is activating the radar tower. By completing this, it will display the location of all of the secrets on the map. This is great if you want to collect Samples or other resources.

To complete a radar tower objective, you must activate the radar using a terminal. Once it has risen to the height needed, you will then need to manually turn the radar into the correct position by rotating it to complete the objective. This is easily done by having one player turn the radar and one at the terminal activating once it is in the right spot. This can be done solo by either looking at the terminal and figuring out where it needs to be and then going and rotating the radar. It does also make a beep noise once it is in position which gives you an indicator that it is complete.

But, some people either aren’t aware of this or struggle to hear it. NanoStaart’s concept would add a series of lights up the length of the radar, with them being red when the radar isn’t in position, before switching to green when ready to be completed. This would make it much easier to complete the objective while playing solo.

Although this isn’t an essential quality-of-life change due to the radar tower beeping when in position so it is easy to complete while solo, a visual cue would make it much more accessible, especially for those that are harder of hearing. This is a feature that I think would be great to be added, hopefully Arrowhead Game Studios sees the original Reddit post. The developers are currently on vacation but some are still working on the game and a PC performance update is expected to be released this week. And of course, the Major Orders are still taking place because the Galactic War never takes a break.
