Boosters are an essential part of every Helldivers 2 mission. The Holy Trinity (Hellpod Space Optimization, Vitality Enhancement, and Stamina Enhancement), in particular, is crucial in guaranteeing any squad’s success. Unfortunately, some boosters aren’t quite as popular as others. Enter the Flexible Reinforcement Budget, which is widely considered one of the most useless boosters in the game, even prompting some players to call it “an absolute troll pick.”
If you’re unfamiliar with how the Flexible Reinforcement Budget Booster works in Helldivers 2, let us give you a quick overview. When equipped, this booster reduces the reinforcement stratagem cooldown by 15%. So, let’s say you’ve dropped into a particularly difficult mission, and you’ve used up all your reinforcement stratagems. Without this booster, you’d typically need to wait two minutes to get another respawn. With it, you’ll only need to wait one minute and 42 seconds, saving you a crucial 18 seconds!
Of course, it’s no surprise that most players consider the Flexible Reinforcement Budget Booster unusable since teams don’t often use up all 15 of their reinforcement stratagems. And even if you do, there are plenty of other boosters that provide better advantages, like its superior counterpart, the Increased Reinforcement Budget Booster, which gives one additional reinforcement per Helldiver. Then, there are also the UAV Recon and Expert Extraction Pilot Boosters, and the list goes on.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this Helldivers 2 Booster is going to get a rework any time soon since recently appointed Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilestedt is focusing more of the team’s attention on weapon rebalancing. Like any other part of the game, though, it could eventually get a much-needed change that’ll make it more popular with players.
