Planets on Helldivers 2 all have unique characteristics that add variety and make it so not every mission is exactly the same. These come in the form of the weather which often hinders your progression. Some of these include ion storms, blizzards, and the most feared and hated one, fire tornados. These tornados leave a burning trail that can ignite the player on fire.

But, it is not just fire tornados that you need to watch out for, as your own Flamethrower or Incendiary Grenades can quickly take you out if you’re not careful. Fire-resistant armor has been heavily requested by the community and many are left disappointed when it doesn’t show up in the latest Warbond.

U/UgsyIsMyUsername took to Reddit to share a concept for a fire-resistant armor. This idea isn’t anything new and has been highly requested for as long as fire tornados have been in the game, as fire can kill a player in a matter of seconds. But, this idea makes it more viable and one that could come to the game, as this concept adds the ability to become immune to fire damage, but at the expense of movement speed. The Reddit user called the Armor Passive ‘Fires of Hell’ with the description reading “Fire doesn’t give damage anymore, but slows you down instead.”

U/HarryBalsag did counter with a great middle-ground idea, this being that you take damage but don’t ignite. It is being ignited causing the Helldivers to scream as your health rapidly runs out unless you use a Stim in time and manage to escape. This would be great as it would be similar to getting shot and dealing a small amount of damage but it would mean that you can survive and wouldn’t have to wait for the fire tornado path to extinguish or find an alternative route before continuing on with the mission.

Until Arrowhead Game Studios adds fire-resistant armor into the game, players are going to continue to request it as it is the bane of any Helldiver’s life. But, don’t expect this to happen any time soon as the developers are currently on summer vacation for the next 4-6 weeks. At least for now, you’re just going to have to deal with the fire, but you can make your missions less frustrating by optimizing your loadout. To do this, we highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide.
