Helldivers 2 might be getting an update this week, here’s what could be fixed

Helldivers 2 is one of the best games of the year, and there is a lot for fans to anticipate in the near future. We recently received a big update following weeks of waiting from the community, and this provided some much-needed and welcomed balance changes. Although the intent is to release patches at a slower frequency, a new Helldivers 2 update might be coming out this week to fix some problems currently plaguing the game.

As mentioned, there is a lot to anticipate in the future for Helldivers 2. The arrival of the Illuminate appears to be edging closer, and, according to leaks, it appears we could one day possibly get a massive clan system. As for cosmetics, Arrowhead has insisted they are still set on releasing the ‘review bomb‘ cape following on from the whole PSN debacle that happened last month.

While the game has near limitless potential for the future, right now fans can anticipate a new update of hotfixes.

Helldivers 2 update possibly coming out this week

A new patch isn’t confirmed to be coming out, but Helldivers 2 community manager, Twinbeard, has suggested there might be an update this week. On the series’ official Discord last week, Twinbeard responded to a query as to whether Arrowhead will be releasing a hotfix.

In response, Twinbeard said, “Next week? Much more plausible, maybe even likely”. In the context of when the response was posted, “Next week” implied June 24th – 30th.

Assuming we do get an update this week, the likely date would be either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. These are the days updates typically release. However, again, nothing is guaranteed.

In regard to what the hotfix could patch, Twinbeard said Arrowhead is looking to fix the major problems with the spear. Since update 01.000.402, players have reported that using the spear has resulted in the game crashing.

Next to the spear, Twinbeard suggested that Arrowhead may deliver a fix for the Ballistic Shield. There is also the following list of known issues yet to be resolved as shared in the update 01.000.402 patch notes:

• Sending friend requests via friend code in game currently does not work.
• Players may be unable to be joined or invited to the game.
• Players added to the ‘Recent Players’ list will appear in the middle of the list.
• Players may experience delays in Medals and Super Credits payouts.
• Available Operations are generated again after reconnecting after getting AFK kicked.
• Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions.
• Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes misfire.
• Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights.
• Plasma Punisher is unable to shoot out of the shield generators.
• Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location.
• “Hand Carts” ship module does not reduce Shield Generator Pack’s cooldown.
• Bile Titan sometimes does not take damage to the head.
• Charger’s butt does not take damage from explosions.
• Players may become stuck in the Loadout when joining a game in progress.
• Reinforcement may not be available for players who join a game in progress.
• Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of every Defend mission.
• “Raise Flag of Super Earth” objective does not show a progress bar.
• Mission count in the Career tab is being reset to zero after every game restart.
• Some weapons’ descriptions are out-of-date and don’t reflect their current design.

Again, no update is confirmed to come out this week, but, hopefully, one does arrive as implied. The spear is the biggest issue that currently needs to be resolved, and, if an update does arrive, it will merely consist of fixes instead of including any balance changes.
