Ahead of the launch of Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki has had plenty to say about not just the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, but other games in the FromSoftware catalogue. In fact, his most recent comment relates to the game that everyone wants to hear about. Bloodborne.

In speaking with PCGamer, Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about his thoughts on a PC port for Bloodborne. The interviewer circumvented the typical answer of ‘it’s not in my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically’ that was handed to an IGN interviewer not long ago, and instead went for a more personal angle.

“I know for a fact these guys want a Bloodborne PC port,” Miyazaki said, referencing the FromSoftware developers. “If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well. But it’s nothing I’m opposed to.”

The creative mind behind Bloodborne, the Souls games, and Elden Ring continues: “Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I’d love more players to be able to enjoy it. Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware—I think any game like that, it’d be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past. So as far as I’m concerned, that’s definitely not something I’d be opposed to.”

Realistically, there was no question about whether or not FromSoftware wanted to bring Bloodborne to PC. It’s remastered Demon’s Souls for the PS5, and also remastered the original Dark Souls into much better condition too. The company loves its games, and it especially loves the fans of its games. Clearly, Miyazaki and co. would like to bring their games to as many platforms as possible, it’s just a matter of pesky publishing rights instead.

PlayStation themselves are not averse to milking Bloodborne for all it’s worth (aside from a PC port, apparently.) Yharnam’s beast hunters appeared recently as promotional cosmetics in Astro Bot’s PS5 launch, though these have been confirmed as inconsequential towards anything of a Bloodborne PC launch.

Hearing about Bloodborne as a “relic of the past” really puts things into perspective. That game was released nine years ago now. I was 14 years old when it came out. Now I’m reporting on its potential PC port, and Miyazaki and the rest of FromSoftware want it too.
