As announced during a Nintendo Direct, the Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD release date is nearly here. Originally released in 2013 on the Nintendo 3DS, this ghost-hunting adventure was called Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. The Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD release date is Thursday, June 27, 2024. Nintendo confirmed this launch date with various trailers. The first announcement for this remaster project happened during the 2023 Nintendo Direct. This game is simply an HD port of the 3DS version to the Nintendo Switch, with no new content except for enhanced visuals.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD gameplay details
As a spin-off game, Luigi’s Mansion features Luigi as the main character. As Luigi, you explore a haunted mansion and hunt ghosts. You’ll visit plenty of spooky locations in the eerie Evershade Valley to figure out the mystery of the Dark Moon. Led by Professor E.Gadd, the Dark Moon was keeping all the ghosts in check until it mysteriously shattered.
Armed with the Poltergust 5000, Luigi must clear out all the ghosts and collect the shards of the Dark Moon to restore peace to Evershade Valley. Using the Poltergust, Luigi can vacuum up objects and use it to solve puzzles in the mansion. Alongside the main story, you can play Luigi’s Mansion in co-op with four people at once. This multiplayer mode sees multiple Luigi’s tackle the ScareScraper, a haunted building teeming with ghosts and other challenges you won’t find in the main game.

Preorders for Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD are now live. By pre-ordering the game, you can get an extra goodie if you order from the Nintendo Store.
