Madden 24 has teased a rather substantial update for one player who starred in Week 9: C.J. Stroud. The Madden 24 Player Ratings Update doesn’t come out today, but he is one player who is all but guaranteed to receive an OVR boost. Stroud has ascended to a 77 OVR after beginning the year ranked as a low 70s player. That should only go up, and the official Madden X account teased as much.
C.J. Stroud expected to get huge Madden 24 Player Ratings Update
C.J. Stroud had one of the best passing performances by a rookie in NFL history. He threw for a rookie record 470 yards and five touchdowns, the last of which came with under 10 seconds left to win the game.
The quarterback piloted his team to a clutch win, putting up unreal numbers. Madden took to X to suggest that he might deserve a ratings boost, and it’s hard to envision them ignoring his game when the next Madden 24 roster update goes live.
Several attributes for the Houston Texans QB are likely to improve:
- Clutch
- Throw Power
- Throw Accuracy
- Deep Throw Accuracy
- Throw Under Pressure
- Throw On the Run
All of these should translate to something higher than a 77 overall. Even with huge games, Madden doesn’t often skyrocket a player’s ratings. He might be lucky enough to get a +3 overall boost and become an 80, but anything above that (however justified it may be) is unlucky.
The starting point for a player matters a lot. If they start as a 75 and play like the best in their position, it’s still a slow journey to that elite rating. This is likely what Stroud will see, as it’s been eight weeks of excellent play to potentially get to just an 80 overall.
