It has been an incredibly exciting week for Helldivers 2 players, with Meridia being turned into a black hole. Now it is time for the next Major Order which continues the eradication of the Terminids.
The latest Helldivers 2 Major Order tasks players with liberating four plans that are surrounding Meridia to continue to weaken the Terminid army. Upon loading your game you will be met with the following message explaining what to expect from the next Major Order.
“With the Supercolony destroyed, it is now finally possible to clear out the spreading Terminid infestation. Since the Terminids corrupted the perfectly-designed Terminid Control System, they have infected world after world with their tyranny, forcing colonists to evacuate their homesteads. Now, the time has come to reclaim the lost dreams of our hardworking citizens.
Though we no longer have the aid of the TCS to hold the Terminids at bay, the new influx of SEAF recruits from the recent mobilization will allow the containment of the Terminids through conventional means. Meanwhile, Super Earth’s greatest chemists are hard at work on an improved, even-more-perfectly-designed Termicide 2.0. Our citizens clamor for the opportunity to stake their claim and pursue their dreams upon the worlds stolen from them by the Terminids.”
The new Major Order calls for players to liberate four surrounding Terminid planets, and players have already made excellent progress toward completing it. This is likely due to the Terminid forces being weakened due to the destruction of the Supercolony, making it increasingly easy to overwhelm them. This means that it should be easy to secure to 55 Medals on offer, as well as the daily ones, especially with the next Helldivers 2 Premium Warbond rumored to be coming on June 13th.
It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out, perhaps keeping us so close to the black hole is intentional for the story and could bring about the arrival of The Illuminate.
