Over 10 years since the first game came out, the developers announced the No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release window during the Summer Game Fest. The original game is free-to-play on Steam and it is technically a mod for the Source Engine. No More Room in Hell 2 is launching into Early Access on Steam and it will build upon the original game greatly.

No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release window is set for Halloween 2024. The developers confirmed this release during the Summer Game Fest, showing an intense gameplay trailer highlighting the permadeath and eight-player co-op systems.
No More Room in Hell 2 gameplay details
Building upon the foundation of the first game, No More Room in Hell 2 is a co-op zombie survival game, featuring a first-person-camera perspective. As you try to survive with your friends, you will have to kill zombies with melee weapons and guns, all the while keeping an eye on your limited resources. As an emergency responder, you play as one of the eight survivors where you must survive, stockpile and complete your mission.
You and your friends drop into a huge map and you have to try and find your friends amid the chaos and zombies. The more times you finish the map, the more you will earn and grow in power. Within this, your characters can die during runs and if you do, they are dead for good, meaning you will lose everything you obtained.
There is only one map in No Room Left in Hell 2 Early Access and it is being billed as ‘massive’ and ‘replayable’. The first map available during Early Access is the Power Plant, which places you and your friends on the outskirts of a massive map in rural Pennsylvania. It seems that the map is so large that it is unlikely you will be placed in the same location once during the time you play. While not confirmed, we might expect that more maps will be added after the No More Room in Hell 2 Early Access release date.
The gameplay loop is simple, as per the game’s Steam page: “Locate co-op allies, then work together to get to the final objective at the map’s centre as the difficulty increases. Gather weapons & equipment to survive the rising threat, moving your squad towards the map’s power plant finale”.
