Unsatisfied fans are part and parcel of any massive online game, including Helldivers 2. After all, it’s impossible to expect players to agree with every change that a developer introduces, especially as they try to reach that sweet spot between fun and functional. Unfortunately, some gamers often cross the line with their comments, prompting Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani to address these issues in his introductory Reddit post.

Operating under the username BigKahuna_AGS, Jorjani created a lengthy thread on the Helldivers subreddit to introduce himself to the community following his appointment as CEO in early May. Naturally, the post included a look at how he got started in the games industry and his initial partnership with Johan Pilestedt and the AGS team. Towards the end, however, he noted that the toxicity some players have repeatedly shown could eventually force them to engage less with the community.

Now, it’s no secret that AGS has often placed a lot of emphasis on community input to improve Helldivers 2. Johan Pilestedt’s appointment as CCO and his subsequent promise to focus heavily on weapon rebalancing prove just that. Jorjani also said that they “share well-articulated feedback about the game internally,” so some constructive Reddit posts may already have made the rounds in AGS’s offices.

Of course, that’s as long as fans remain civilized and uncombative, which hasn’t quite always been the case (see: Helldivers 2 PSN controversy). But for the most part, most of the community’s constructive criticism, paired with Arrowhead Game Studios’ creative talent, has turned Helldivers 2 into one of the most beloved games in recent times. Hopefully, this can continue into the future with a little less of the unnecessary “jump off a cliff” comments.
