It’s been an incredible year for video games and especially Nintendo. Breath of the Wild 2 is already a strong game of the year contender, and now it’s accompanied by the publisher’s famous Italian plumber. The release date and time countdown for when Super Mario Bros. Wonder will come out is on the horizon, and Nintendo fans have another masterpiece ready to enjoy over the weekend.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the beginning of a new era. Not only is it a marvelous installment with 93 on Metacritic, but it is also the debut of a new Mario voice actor. Charles Martinet has stepped down from the role after 30 years, and he is replaced by Genshin Impact VA, Kevin Afghani. It’s sad to see the departure of Martinet, but at least fans don’t need to further cry about him getting replaced by Chris Pratt.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder release date

The release date for Super Mario Bros. Wonder is October 20th. You can preload the game right now if you’ve pre-ordered a digital version from the Nintendo eShop. It costs £49.99/$59.99 to pre-order, which makes it cheaper than PlayStation-exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which launches on the same day.

As for what the game is all about, it’s another 2D side-scrolling platformer fans are all too familiar with. Rather than rescuing Princess Peach, the always gallant plumber needs to recapture a stolen Wonder Flower from the nefarious Bowser. You will come across many Wonder Flowers on your journey, and you will be able to play 12 different iconic characters including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshi, and Toad.

What time does Super Mario Bros. Wonder come out?

The expected release time for Super Mario Bros. Wonder is 9 pm PT on October 19th, as well as 12 am ET and 12 am BST on October 20th. Nintendo doesn’t share launch times on the eShop unlike Sony and Microsoft with the PSN and Xbox stores. However, unlike third-party games, Nintendo exclusives typically launch local midnight.

It is an amazing experience all on its own, yet there’s also the addition of multiplayer. The online gameplay allows you to team up with between two and four friends either locally or online. If you wish to play online, you will need a membership. These memberships cost £17.99 over 12 months, or £34.99 if you want the Expansion pack. If you want memberships to spread across up to eight accounts, then you will need to pay £31.49 or £59.99 over 12 months respectively.
