The Finals Season 3 has been out for nearly a month now, and it has been a lot of fun. There is the drawback of Terminal Attack becoming the defacto mode for Ranked, but everything else has been superb from new weapons and gadgets to the new map in Japan. While there is a lot of great content, many of The Finals community agree on what the best addition to Season 3 is, and it’s hard to disagree with the viewpoint.

As mentioned, there is a lot to enjoy in Season 3. Fans have shared the most powerful but slept on gun in the game, and players absolutely love the new Kyoto map. Unfortunately, fans are not happy with the biggest change to Season 3, but, in explaining why Cashout was removed from Ranked, it seems that the mode will return to Ranked from World Tour sometime in the future, and it will be even better.

A plethora of new content was added in June, but many of The Finals community agree that the winch claw is the absolute best.

The Finals winch claw is the best Season 3 addition

Many new gadgets and weapons were added to The Finals in Season 3, but the winch claw is arguably the best gameplay addition to the game. Fans in the community absolutely love the specialization, and it is the best thing to happen to the Heavy class where it is exclusive.

Per the update 3.0.0 patch notes, the winch claw is a “new specialization for heavies [that] launches a chain that pulls objects or enemies toward you, briefly stunning them, making it a perfect companion to the new Spear”. It’s basically turns you into Scorpion from Mortal Kombat only without the “get over here” war cry.

Talking about how the winch claw is the best thing that has happened to the Heavy on The Finals’ subreddit, many fans agree that it is so much fun to use, but also extremely devastating when used in combination with the sledgehammer.

In addition to using it with the sledgehammer to pummel foes after bringing them in, fans have also begun exploiting the winch claw in conjunction with using the anti-gravity cube.

Some fans, particularly light players, have argued that the winch claw needs to be nerfed, perhaps in regard to range seeing as damage has already been nerfed from 15 to 5. A new update should be imminent, and it will be interesting to see what balance changes Embark implement, if any.
