The first half of 2024 has seen some great video game releases, and the second half is just as exciting beginning with The First Descendant. TFD is a very unique co-op third-person shooter, and it will be free-to-play on PS5, Xbox, and PC. The First Descendent is so heavily anticipated that 120,000 players have been caught playing The Descendant accidentally thinking it’s TFD. There is a lot to anticipate in July with the long-awaited arrival of the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, as well as the Delta Force Hawk Ops Alpha Test exclusive to PC.

The release date for The First Descendant is July 2nd. This has been confirmed by the official TFD Twitter account.
It is coming to PlayStation and Xbox, and it will be on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as PS5 and Series X/S. As for PC, it is coming to Steam, but you will not be able to play on the Epic Games store.
Regardless of your platform of choice, it will be free-to-play. As a free-to-play game, there will, of course, be microtransactions. Microtransactions will apply to cosmetics such as outfits and weapons skins, but there will also be experience boosters and resource packs.
When does The First Descendant come out?
The release time for when The First Descendant will come out is 12AM PT/3AM ET/8AM BST on July 2nd. It is a global release, meaning these launch times apply to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC for Steam.
Whether you play on console or PC, the good news is that TFD is crossplay between all systems. There is also cross-progression, meaning you will be able to carry over your progress between systems if you’re lucky enough to own and play on different platforms.

How to preload
Per Nexon support, you will be able to preload TFD at 12AM PT/3AM ET/8AM BST on June 30th. This means you will be able to download the game 48-hours in advance so you can begin playing the very second it unlocks.
Fortunately, you will be able to preload at the above hours on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam for PC. Unfortunately, no download size has been specified for console as of writing. However, below are the minimum and recommended system requirements for PC:
