Cabined Accounts are one of the latest aspects to be included in this title’s list of innovative elements. Because this is a new term that hasn’t been used anywhere else, plenty of players have been asking the following question: what are Cabined Accounts? Here’s what we know about this new detail.

What are Cabined Accounts in Fortnite?

Cabined Accounts will essentially require a parent’s permission in order for it to access the full breadth of Fortnite’s features. According to a blog post from Epic Games, these are “a new type of account providing a tailored experience that is safe and inclusive for younger players while maintaining access to the gameplay you love.”

It further states that “players around the world will see a one-time request for their age when they log-in.” If you’re under the age of 13, you’ll be given a Cabined Account. You will then be asked to provide your parent’s or guardian’s email address.

Once you’ve provided it, this will begin the parental consent process in which your guardian must approve it first. Parental Controls will also need to be set in order for you to access some features of the game.

Those under the age of 18 will also have a few privacy settings reset to the highest option. On the other hand, those below age 16 will have the mature language filter turned on along with the privacy settings that have been reset.
