Since its launch last month, XDefiant has seen millions of players jump into Ubisoft’s new competitive FPS titles and so far the response has been good. As the game enters Season 1 on July 2nd, people are now discovering the metas and one grenade could be an overlooked gem in your loadout.
U/EntrepreneurInside90 took to Reddit to discuss the EMP grenade, calling it the best grenade in XDefiant. According to the player, it is the perfect option for most situations, including when dealing with the spiders, shields, El Remedio, and Riot Shields, while also noting that “EMP is the King and also this is the only game where I would choose to use it instead of any other nade for how useful it is.”
Many other players agreed, although some still prefer the more traditional grenades, but u/HintofMalice praised the EMP saying,
“100% hard agree. For how powerful this grenade is, it gets nowhere near enough love. It counters almost every ability in the game. The major stuff people complain about in this game, Snipers, Spiderbots and Intel Suit. 2/3 are countered by EMPs. The only abilities that can’t be retroactively countered by EMP are Cleaner’s firebomb and Deadsec’s hack. Recently I’ve been running Deadsec purely for multiple EMPs per life.”
