Season 1 of XDefiant is right around the corner. The first official season will bring excitement to players of Ubisoft’s FPS game. We can look forward to many new goodies to play with, along with the start of the first real competitive ladder. If you’re as excited as we are, then you’ll be happy to hear that you won’t have to wait long to dig into the new content.
What is the release date for XDefiant Season 1?
Season 1 of XDefiant starts on July 2, 2024. The exact global release times are yet unknown. However, Ubisoft plans to unveil more details about the new season on July 1 via their YouTube channel. If you’ve been playing the pre-season, be sure to claim any rewards before the next patch releases.
XDefiant Season 1 Features
There are a lot of new things to look forward to with the release of Season 1. It won’t be just a simple tick-over, instead, there will be several new additions to the game.
New Faction: GSK
The release of Season 1 will add a new faction to the game. They are GSK, which will be familiar to Rainbow Six Siege players. We are yet to see what their faction abilities are going to be, but at least we know the names of the three operatives: Blitz, Jäger, and IQ.
3 New weapons
There will be three new weapons joining the current loadouts. Here’s what we’re getting:
- L115 Sniper Rifle
- Sawed-off Shotgun
- LVOA-C Assault Rifle
3 New maps
The new season will bring three new maps to add to the current library. Interestingly, the devs plan to release them at a rate of one per month. The new maps will be:
- Clubhouse (from Rainbow Six Siege)
- Daytona (from Rainbow Six Siege)
- Rockefeller (XDefiant original)
New game mode: Capture the flag
Last but not least when it comes to new additions, we’re also getting a new yet familiar game mode. A shooter classic, Capture the Flag is coming to XDefiant. With the game’s fast-paced shootouts, we can already see how this mode can become a fan favourite rather quickly.
New Battle Pass
Of course, a new season means a new Battle Pass. We know that the Season 1 Battle Pass will feature 90 tiers, filled with skins, emotes, and other cosmetics. We’re still fuzzy on the exact details but can expect that more will be revealed on July 1, along with the rest of the season additions.
