XDefiant has been a blast since launch, and the community only has a couple of weeks to wait until the beginning of Season 1. However, in a surprise announcement out-of-nowhere, Ubisoft has announced that Team Deathmatch is arriving very soon. While not everyone is happy with the changes made in the most recent update, the good news is that we are getting Team Deathmatch. Many suspected it would arrive in Season 1, but the release date and time countdown is less than a day away.
XDefiant Team Deathmatch release date
The release date for Team Deathmatch in XDefiant is June 21st. This has been confirmed on social media by the official PlayXDefiant account.
As if this wasn’t enough, the game’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, has also confirmed that the developers are planning to release another new mode much sooner thanks to so much fan demand. This new mode is expected to arrive in Season 1, which is pegged for July 2nd.
When does XDefiant Team Deathmatch come out?
The release time for when Team Deathmatch will come out in XDefiant is 10AM PT/1PM ET/6PM BST on June 21st.
This isn’t the only thing to anticipate for Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter. As mentioned, Season 1 is only a couple of weeks away, and it will introduce a brand new faction along with three new maps. Not only that, but there will also be some new and fresh weapons to take onto the battlefield.

How to play
Although no specifics have been provided, Team Deathmatch in XDefiant should work basically the same as every other multiplayer game that features the popular mode.
Per its name, the mode typically sees groups of teams compete for the highest number of kills within a specific time limit. Either that or a team secures the maximum amount of kills possible before the time limit ends.
While Ubisoft is planning to introduce a one-life mode to the game, in TDM players quickly respawn after being killed to re-join the action. It’s fun, it’s chaotic, and it’s joining Ubisoft’s shooter in just one day.
