If you’re wondering if the Apple M3 chip has a release date yet, you’re probably going to have to wait until the product is revealed first.

We’re only going to be able to predict a release window for a possible Apple M3 chip based on previous launches with confirmed release dates. This includes its predecessors including the Apple M2 and M1 chips, alongside all of the variations they’ve heralded.

Apple M3 release window predictions

While the M2 Ultra was the focus of this year’s Apple WWDC, the potential release of the M3 is the upcoming release on everyone’s mind. With the M1 Chip, the M1 Ultra was the last instalment in the series before the M2 kicked off, so we can assume the M2 Ultra will do the same for the current flagship series.

Apple’s Sillicon line-up consists of the following chips, with their release dates attached to them:

  • Apple M1: November 10th, 2020
  • Apple M1 Pro: October 18th, 2021
  • Apple M1 Max: October 18th, 2021
  • Apple M1 Ultra: March 8th, 2022
  • Apple M2: June 24th, 2022
  • Apple M2 Pro: January 17th, 2023
  • Apple M2 Max: January 17th, 2023
  • Apple M2 Ultra: June 13th, 2023

It doesn’t take long for Apple to work their way through different generations of their Silicon chips, so that tells us that the Apple M3 could arrive sooner than we’re expecting. With the M1 releasing in November 2020, and the M2 releasing in June 2022, could we see the M3 release at some point in 2024?

If the three month gap between M1 Ultra and M2 means anything, we could even see the M3 release at some point this year. Though, we’re going to have to wait and see. If it does, you’re going to want to pick up the best MacBook Pro monitor to make use of it.

Apple M3 specs leaks

Bloomberg’s ever reliable Mark Gurman has suggested that Apple “has begun putting next-generation Macs with M3 chips through their paces”, with at least one version with “12 CPU cores, 18 graphics cores and 36 gigabytes of memory.” These leaks are according to an App Store developer, Gurman claims.

Posisble Apple M3 specs:

  • 12 CPU Cores
  • 18 Graphics Cores
  • 36GB RAM

There will surely be other variations of the M3 chip released, so we’re not sure which specific Silicon chip this is.

We’re going to be keeping our eyes peeled for more information regarding the Apple M3 chip – so make sure to stay updated with us. You might also be interested in a possible Apple Vision Pro release window, which will surely interest those looking for the latest information on the M3.
