Manor-Lords:Retinue
The Retinue are more powerful and better equipped soldiers in Manor Lords, that can be used to bolster your army.
They are essentially the Special Forces in the game and are essential if you want to protect and expand your territory effectively.
Recruiting Retinue
First, you must construct a Manor for x5 Timber, x20 Planks, and x15 Stone.
This gives you x5 Retinue for you to use in your army alongside your Militia.
Growing your Retinue
There are a few ways to grow your Retinue.
Buy soldiers using Treasury
New Retinue can be bought for 50 Treasury each, up to 12. You can do this by heading to the Customization Menu and then to the Army Menu. Locate the Recruit Man-at-Arms button and hire at will!
You can also use this to replace fallen Retinue from your unit.
Build Garrison Towers
Building a Garrison Tower will allow you to increase the maximum number of Retinue by a further 12. Bringing the total for the Manor up to 24.
These cost x10 Timber, 15x Planks, and x10 Stone to build, and you are limited to just one.
Build more Manors
Conquering new territory will allow you to build more Manors, giving you another Retinue unit to grow using the above methods.
Retinue Customization
When it comes to customization, there is a lot you can do with your Retinue both for appearance and fighting ability. Open up the Army Menu with the V key to do so.
Cosmetic changes
You can change your Retinue's name and color scheme from this menu. This is purely cosmetic so don't expect a fearsome title or nightmarish color combo to give you the edge in battle!
Equipment and Armor
On the Equipment Menu you can change your Retinue's Weapons and armor, plus you can assign new Armor upgrades, such as Plate Armor.
