Basic Armormaking is one of the developments under the Industry Tree of Manor Lords. With this development, you can build an Armorers Workshop.

How to unlock
As Basic Armormaking is a main node, you can purchase it without having to unlock any other nodes.
Benefits
When you unlock the Basic Armormaking, you can build Armorer's Workshop, which is a backyard extension. In this workshop, you can start producing Helmets, which are used by the Militia. However, note that your Burgage plot needs to be Level 2 for building the Armorer's Workshop.
Further, you need to unlock Basic Armormaking so you can unlock Advanced Armormaking and Master Armormaking, with which you can produce other weapons for your Militia.
