Advanced Armormaking is one of the developments under the Industry Tree of Manor Lords. With this development, you can start producing Mail Armor.

How to unlock
As Advanced Armormaking is a sub-branch on the Industry Tree, you will have to unlock the Basic Armormaking first.
Benefits
As mentioned, the Advanced Armormaking development unlocks Mail Armor in the Armorers Workshop. You can use this for your settlers, or it can be used to promote a new Retinue. Note that this upgrade will require you to have Burgage plots of Level 3 and above.
Further, you will have to activate Advanced Armormaking to unlock Master Armormaking, which will enable you to craft even more weapons for your Militia.
